The Company House was built in 1850 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since opening in June 1995, we have been host to more then 6000 guest from all parts of the world. In 1996, when the Summer Olympics were in town, we hosted the Italian Kayak & Canoe Team, and were featured on CNN, shown all around the world. We also hosted the Swiss Timing Group from Switzerland, France & Spain, who setup timing & scoring for the Olympic Whitewater Events, here on the Ocoee River. And since then, have had guests from England, India, Belgium, Canada, Japan, American Samoa, and from most every state in the United States.

Our Inn features 7 guest rooms, each with its own private bath. Some baths have antique clawfoot tubs. In our Parlor we have a big screen TV, but most guest like the Rocking Chair Porch where you can count the traffic on one hand. A side deck is also poplar with guest, as it looks out over an old concrete fish pond that we found buried under the ground. It is now a beautiful water garden with a water fall, and several koi (no fishing poles allowed!)
Margie cooks a big full breakfast each morning, never telling just whats going to be served. You may get such dishes as “Duck Wings,” Carmel French Toast, Baked Deviled Eggs, Home made Biscuits and Sausage Gravy, or who knows what else she might make. Always enough to feed an army.

The Company House is right next door to where the Old Copper Company Store used to be, where the Copper Miners could buy everything from groceries to clothes to gasoline on credit. Their pay was then docked the amount of their purchases.Tennessee Ernie Ford sang a song called “I Owe My Soul To The Company Store” about such a store. Thus the name The Company House.

On the hill behind our Inn is the Burra Burra Mine and Copper Mining Museum. Stocked with artifacts and pictures of the days when the Copper Mines where up and running (from the 1830’s until the 1980’s). An interesting part of history. Several mines are in the area, all of which are closed and capped. We have named our guest rooms after these mines ie – Burra Burra, Isabella, Old Tennessee, Boyd, Mary, etc. (see the room information page)

Whitewater Rafting is the big attraction in the summer, but for those who don’t want to challenge the Ocoee River, there is Hiking, Mountain Biking, Antique Stores, Flea Markets, Sightseeing, or just plain relaxing on the front porch. In the fall, the colors are spectacular. Our guests enjoy getting their picture taken with “Fred,” our October Halloween Scarecrow! Winter time brings some snow and relaxing by the fireplace. You get all the beauty without the crowds.

We hope you will choose our area for your next holiday and especially The Company House Bed and Breakfast Inn, where you will find a comfortable bed, good cooking, and friendly folks.

Hope to see you soon…
